Titanic

Included in our printable is the doomed luxury British passenger liner, Titanic.  Built in Belfast by Harland and Wolff shipbuilders, RMS Titanic sank in April 2012 on her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City after hitting an iceberg.

The Giant’s Causeway

Antrim’s famous Giant’s Causeway is also included in this printable wall art piece.

The Giant’s Causeway, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986,  is an area of approx. 40,000 interlocking basalt columns.  It was formed as a result of ancient volcanic fissure eruptions some 60 million years ago.

According to legend, Fionn Mac Cumhaill (Finn MacCool), the mythical Irish hunter warrior, built a stepping stone path to Scotland so that he could go there to fight a giant! Unfortunately, the path was ripped up by the Scottish giant – the result was the Giant’s Causeway.

The volcano theory is more plausible, but less fun!
